April 2013 President’s Letter
There’s a lot going on at NEMPA this spring
Lisa (Fleming) Brock has been named executive director of the New England Motor Press Association effective April 1, 2013.
The most important announcement I have is that our NEMPA-MIT symposium and annual meeting and awards dinner will be held on Thursday, May 9, at the impressive MIT Media Lab.
This is a little embarrassing, but for the second time in three years the New England Motor Press Association’s Winter Vehicle Test Day had to be postponed on account of, well, winter.
OK, New Year’s Day has passed but my family celebrates the Jan. 6 holiday, so happy Three Kings Day! For once I’m early with a letter.
NEMPA’s annual holiday party at the Boston Globe drew automakers and media people from across the country for good food, good company, Christmas entertainment and gifts.

It’s hard to believe that September is already here and my girls have started school. What doubly surprises me is we have to start talking about New England Winter Vehicle of the Year. Sure, it’s 80 degrees outside as I sit at my computer, but it’s time to start thinking about winter. We know there are long lead times in ordering vehicles.
June Greetings—Was really trying to get this letter out by June 1, but sometimes life and work get in the way. I hate when that happens.
