This Week in the New England Motor Press – 6/25/10

Summer is officially here, and our famously industrious membership has been hard at work. Our Ragtop Ramble/Crustacean Crawl is nearly upon us, and planning is humming along. Here’s a roundup of what’s been going on this week with the New England Motor Press Association.

Zane and Josh Merva from AutoInsane.com have been busy driving the GM HD Pickups and Cadillac CTS Coupe, and reviews will publish in the near future. Keep an eye out.

Silvio Calabi reviews the Acura ZDX at his Road Page, which appears on four Village Soup Media websites, is also published by regional papers.

Rick DeMeis took some time out from the World Cup to talk about the Ford VIRTTEX driving simulator for Examiner.com, and Rick is also the Automotive Group Leader for Techbites.com.

AAA “Car Doctor” John Paul hosts a radio show on WROL AM 950, as well as offering auto advice to readers of the Boston Globe and Boston.com.

Veteran Bill Griffith also pens content for the Boston Globe and the Boston.com Overdrive page. This week, Bill turns his attention to the Ford Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge.

Keith Griffin offers used-car wisdom at his About.com blog and thinks about the residual value of electric cars this week.

George Kennedy from WheelsTV will be covering the Larz Anderson Lawn Series throughout the summer, and he acted as our secretary at Porsche’s recent visit.

CarGuyDad’s Kamil Kaluski reviewed the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and talks about his experience with the Porsche Boxster Spyder last week.

Laurie Bogart Morrow writes a weekly car review column for The Daily Basics, a women’s interest website, and also contributes car reviews to Salon.com.  Laurie is currently collaborating on a book on vintage costume jewelry with Nikon spokesman, professional photographer Rob Van Patten, as well, entitled The Vintage Woman.

Tim Plouff is one of NEMPA’s Maine contingent, with a weekly column in the Ellsworth American, Mt. Desert Islander and several other coastal Maine papers. Longer versions of the print reviews can be found at fenceviewer.com

Dan Roth expounds on the cars he’s driving with his Autoblog Podcast colleagues. Dan  recently reviewed the Ford Transit Connect for the Boston Globe. Dan also writes for AOL Autos and Examiner.com.

John and Paul Zangari continue to host Drive Thru Radio on Providence’s WPRO, as they have for the last twenty years. The brothers offer car repair advice, as well as chatting about the new cars they’re driving.
